Methodology
Every calculated number on Stockrove is derived from a specific formula and a specific data source. This page documents the calculations you'll see across the app.
Portfolio gain / loss
For each holding: (currentPrice − avgPrice) × shares, in the holding's native currency. Portfolio-level totals are aggregated per currency — Stockrove does not silently convert currencies at an assumed FX rate.
Percentage return per holding
((currentPrice − avgPrice) / avgPrice) × 100. Uses the latest available price at the time of view.
Estimated annual dividend income
Sum of trailing 12-month dividend payments per share, multiplied by the current share count. Labeled as an estimate because it uses historical declarations, not guaranteed future payments. Missing dividend data means the estimate is not shown.
Calculated dividend yield
(trailing 12-month dividends per share / current price) × 100. Displayed on the stock detail page when at least one dividend has been paid in the last 12 months.
Diversification score
A 0–100 score derived from position weights, sector exposure, and country exposure. Concentration in a single holding, sector, or country lowers the score. Missing sector/country classifications are excluded so the score is not skewed by incomplete metadata. See our explainer article for concepts and limitations.
Historical performance
1-week, 1-month, 3-month, YTD, 1-year, and 5-year returns are computed from EODHD end-of-day closes. Where adjusted close is available, returns use adjusted values so splits and dividends are reflected in long-horizon comparisons.
Data sources
Primary market data comes from EODHD. Fallback providers may be used only when EODHD does not cover a specific field, and the provider is disclosed in the UI when this happens.
What we don't calculate
- Tax-adjusted returns (Stockrove is not a tax product).
- Personalized risk profiles or asset-allocation recommendations.
- Predicted future prices, dividends, or returns.
